Create quote

Create quote adds a prospect quotation (QU-) for an account. The new quote is Draft (draft), which means the quote was just created.

Process flow

Quote to cash, in catalog order.

  1. Lead — Raw prospect, joined to an account for qualification into an opportunity.
  2. Opportunity — Qualified deal linked to an account and a contact, progressing toward quote conversion or a recorded loss.
  3. Quote — Prospect quotation (QU-) joined to an account and a customer group, convertible to an order once won.
  4. Order — Confirmed customer sales order (SO-), driving shipping and invoicing.
  5. Bill Of Landing — Carriage contract (BOL-) through transit.
  6. Invoice — Customer receivable (INV-), posted against a customer account.
  7. Bank Payment Match — Link (BPM-) pairing a bank transaction with invoices or bills.
  8. Reconciliation — Matching record (RC-) pairing ledger entries to bank transactions.

Before you start

  • An account to join the quote to. The quote stores that account.

How to

Go to Sales → Sales Pipeline → Quotes. Route: sales/sales.quotes-table-with-pivoting.

  1. Choose create sales account. That header button opens Create quote (sales/sales.create-quote), in the modal Create new quote.
  2. Fill the quote. The tabs are Key information, Shipping & Billing, Lead information, Internal notes, Customer notes, documents, and Financials. Key information includes the quote items, the quote expiry date, and additional accounts and contacts.
  3. Press Create. That runs Create quote document (sales/sales.create-quote-document).

You should see a new row on Quotes. Status is Draft (draft). The quote number starts with QU-.
