Confirm an order
Confirm an agreed order to begin its fulfillment work. Confirmation recalculates the order, checks account credit, consumes linked blanket quantities, and starts the applicable shipping, supplier, production, or stock-reservation work.
Check readiness
The order must be Open or Acknowledged. A Draft order can be made Open with Mark as open on the Orders row. Review the customer's agreement before doing so.
Each order line needs a warehouse with a stock location configured. Check the account, quantities, procurement choices, prices, addresses, and terms. For a blanket release, compare the account and matching lines with the agreement's remaining quantities. Account blocks or credit-policy failures can prevent confirmation.
Confirm and check the handoff
- Open Sales → Sales Pipeline → Orders and find the intended SO- number.
- Choose Confirm order. In Confirm sales order, check the account name, order total, shipping cost, and weight.
- Review Items included in order: product, warehouse, quantity, unit, packaging, procurement type, shipping start date, and prices. Check the shipping and billing addresses below the items.
- Choose Confirm sales order when those details are correct. This commits the order to fulfillment and can create connected operational work.
- Open View order details. Check the order's In Process status and the related fulfillment records. For a blanket release, also check its consumed and remaining quantities on the agreement.
Shipping and invoicing have their own progress indicators. Confirmation does not mean that goods have shipped or that all quantities have been invoiced. Service lines are treated as shipped for progress calculations; check the order explanation before interpreting the overall result.
Resolve a blocked confirmation
| Message or condition | Check and correct |
|---|---|
| Only Open/Acknowledged orders are accepted | Recheck the current order status and whether it was already confirmed. |
| No warehouse or missing stock location | Have the warehouse setup corrected, then check the affected line's warehouse. |
| Account or credit-policy failure | Resolve the account's block or credit condition with the responsible account or finance colleague. |
| Blanket allowance or matching-line problem | Compare the agreement, account, product, variant, packaging, unit, and remaining quantity. |
After a failed attempt, inspect the current order and connected records before retrying. Use Update an order only while it remains editable.
