Price list and global pricing

A price list and a global pricing rule are two records. A new price list starts as Draft.

A new price list starts as Draft (draft). Create price list adds a named rate schedule for a customer group and a warehouse. The price list was created.

Activate sets Active (active). The current price list is active.

Disable sets Disabled (disabled). The list will not be used to select a price.

Expired (expired) means the list cannot be used. Nothing on this screen sets it.

A global pricing rule applies a Weight Per Unit (weight-per-unit) or a Unit Price (unit-price) strategy across all variants in one sweep. Draft (draft) is the default. The form is not on Create global rule yet.

Applied (applied) is a status on the rule. apply applies the rule, and it does not name a status.

Neither record has a number prefix.

How it moves

  1. Create Price List — Create price list adds the list, in Draft (draft), for a customer group and a warehouse
  2. Edit Price List — Update saves a later change on that list
  3. Edit Price List Items — Add/Edit Price List Items saves the item rows on that list
  4. Create global pricing — the form is not on Create global rule yet

Open Sales → Sales Configuration → Pricing. Price lists and Global Pricing are both on this screen. Pricing activities does not open a screen.

On this screen

Activate and Disable do not name a status the list must already be in. Delete on a row, and Delete for the selected rows, removes the list and its item rows. Details opens the products on the list.

apply applies the rule and does not name a status. Duplicate does not open a form. Update on a global pricing rule does not open a form. Delete stays on that row. None of them names a status the rule must already be in.
